Jean Johnson
Lawyer
Jean joined our firm in 2026 with a diverse background in employment law, litigation, immigration, and client advocacy. She is multilingual and passionate about helping clients navigate legal challenges with professionalism and care.
About Jean
Jean obtained her law degree from the University of Kerala, India, in 2020 before returning to her birthplace of Muscat, Oman. There, she worked at a corporate law firm, focusing on employment and labour matters, shareholder disputes, construction-related issues, and assisting in commercial arbitrations.
In 2022, she moved to British Columbia to pursue further education. As the first in her family to pursue a legal career, and the first to move abroad, Jean faced challenges that strengthened her independence and adaptability. These experiences continue to shape her approach to both her practice and her relationships with clients.
After completing her Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Law Enforcement Studies, Jean obtained her Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation. She was called to the British Columbia bar in 2025.
Jean initially practiced in family law, immigration, civil litigation, and wills and estates. She has appeared in court and represented clients in mediations, consistently advocating for their interests with diligence and care. She has recently returned to practising employment law, an area she is particularly passionate about. Her interest in this field stems from early exposure to court proceedings involving her father’s wrongful termination while living in Oman.
Fluent in English, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi, and able to read and write in Arabic, Jean is committed to serving clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her approach is balanced, compassionate and collaborative, yet unwavering and determined when necessary. Above all, she aims to provide legal services with professionalism, precision, and genuine care.
Outside of her practice, Jean enjoys travelling and is an avid baker. She is currently returning to a regular fitness routine, with the long-term goal of completing a marathon. She has recently embraced a digital detox and looks forward to spending more time at the library exploring fiction, with a soft spot for Danielle Steel and Julia Quinn’s historical romances.
