Courtney Glendinning is a trusted employment lawyer in British Columbia, known for excellence in advocacy and delivering clear, real-world legal advice with professionalism and compassion. Called to the bar in British Columbia in 2017, she represents both employees and employers in a wide range of workplace matters, including employee terminations, constructive and wrongful dismissal claims, severance entitlements, human rights claims, and drafting employment agreements, contractor agreements, and workplace policy documents.
Courtney has a specialized practice advising charitable, religious, and faith-based groups, including churches, schools, and parachurch organizations from a variety of Christian denominations (as well as non-denominational groups) across the province. Her clients value her thoughtful, principled approach and her ability to resolve sensitive issues with precision and grace. To this special area of practice, Courtney brings personal experience and an understanding of life in the Church, allowing her to guide clients through the ins and outs of employment law, without losing sight of the unique needs, goals, and priorities of the faith community.
Courtney is a strong advocate both in and out of the courtroom, and seeks resolutions through skilled negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution where possible to avoid the need for litigation. She has represented clients at the Provincial, Supreme, and Appeal Courts of British Columbia, as well as various boards and tribunals including the BC Human Rights Tribunal, the Labour Relations Board, the Workers’ Compensation Board, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal, the Employment Standards Branch, the Employment Standards Tribunal, and the Residential Tenancy Branch.
Courtney earned her J.D. from Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources and graduated at the top of her class from the University of the Fraser Valley, receiving the Dean’s Medal. She has also been recognized by ThreeBest Rated as one of the Top 3 Civil Litigation Lawyers in Chilliwack.
