Workplace Investigations

Workplace Investigation Services

When serious concerns arise in the workplace — such as harassment, bullying, theft or other misconduct — employers must respond promptly, fairly, and with care. A timely, thorough, and impartial inquiry can prevent reputational damage, maintain trust, protect workplace morale and productivity, and minimize potential liability. At Glendinning Smith LLP, we provide independent, legally informed workplace investigations designed to be fair, efficient, and minimally disruptive.

Drawing on extensive experience in employment law and human resources, we ensure investigations are procedurally sound, tailored to your organization’s unique needs, and defensible in any future proceedings. Our team combines legal expertise with practical judgment to guide you confidently through every stage of the investigation process, safeguarding your workplace and supporting informed decision-making.

Workplace Investigation Services

At Glendinning Smith LLP, we provide employers across British Columbia with clear, independent workplace investigation services that meet the highest legal and procedural standards. Whether you are responding to a harassment complaint, allegations of misconduct, or a complex human rights issue, we deliver fair, confidential, and defensible investigations tailored to your workplace and legal obligations.
Our team combines experience in employment law, human rights, and regulatory compliance to help employers manage risk and maintain a safe, respectful work environment. We also offer post-investigation advice on discipline, policy development, and workplace restoration to support a practical and legally sound resolution. Based in Chilliwack, we serve organizations of all sizes throughout BC.

Our Process

Your initial consultation is an opportunity for us to learn about you or your organization, assess the legal issues at hand, and determine whether we’re the right fit for your needs. During this one-hour meeting, we’ll explain your rights and options, offer recommendations, and outline the potential next steps. If you choose to proceed, we’ll also review the scope of services and associated costs for ongoing representation.
Before the consultation, we ask that you send us any relevant documents — such as employment contracts, severance offers, workplace policies, or key communications — so your lawyer can review them in advance. The consultation is offered at a flat rate of $300 plus tax, with any further work billed at the lawyer’s hourly rate. Appointments can often be scheduled on the same day you contact us, or within one business day and are available in person, by phone, or Zoom. To get started, please complete our online intake form, or contact our office and a team member will guide you through the booking process.
